Epson appoints Red

Epson, a world leader in imaging products including printers, 3LCD projectors and small and medium sized LCDs, has appointed Red to handle its UK public relations programme, working in tandem with the Epson UK press office. Epson chose Red as its UK PR agency after a two way pitch, with the shortlist of PR agencies selected for the pitch undertaken by the PRCA’s PR Review service.

Red’s UK PR programme will start immediately and will focus on supporting both Epson’s consumer and business products divisions, communicating the company’s leadership in imaging products. The renewed focus on business products will concentrate on cementing Epson’s leading position within the UK in AV products, as well as communicating that Epson offers a wide range of laser, inkjet and impact printers designed to meet a multitude of diverse business needs.

Sue Burgess, PR manager for Epson UK Ltd, said: “Our midterm strategy is to increase the proportion of revenue from our business products division and Red offered a strong blended team of both consumer and business-to-business PR experts to meet this brief. We are at a very exciting point in the company’s development and growth, and we chose Red for their detailed understanding of the challenges we face.”

David Vindel, Head of Technology at the Red Consultancy, said: “As a pioneer in imaging products Epson is a company we admire and a fantastic win for Red’s Technology division. Their creative and innovative culture, very much mirrors the values we champion at Red. Taking the company through its next phase of development and growth will be both a challenging and rewarding task.”
