The Red Consultancy has hired former ITV News Deputy Editor and Head of Multimedia at The Times, Matt Walsh, as its new Head of Broadcast.
In his new role, Walsh will be leading broadcast outreach for all of The Red Consultancy’s clients.
Welcoming Walsh’s appointment, The Red Consultancy CEO Mike Morgan said:
“We’re thrilled to have added Matt to the team. He has an outstanding track record in broadcasting and can operate right across our business from consumer to corporate and from healthcare to technology.”
After joining IRN in 1999, Walsh rose to be Deputy Editor of the ITV News Channel. He also edited a number of ITV News budget and election specials.
After leaving ITN, he joined The Times where he introduced online video and podcasting. He also advised David Cameron’s Director of Strategy, Steve Hilton, on the Conservatives’ approach to broadcasting.
Most recently Walsh has worked with Maverick Television to oversee the launch of ‘NHS local’ - the West Midlands based digital service for the health service.
Matt Walsh said:
“I am delighted to be joining the innovative and creative team at The Red Consultancy. With the proliferation of broadcast news channels, and the ever expanding range of digital outlets, delivering coverage is becoming ever more complex. I hope the insight I can bring to Red’s clients will prove invaluable."
