Red Wins Gong at CIPR Excellence Awards 2008

Red picked up the award for Best International campaign at the CIPR Excellence Awards with the McAfee Virtual Criminology Report. The report was developed to help spark global dialogue about national cyber security and the increasing threats of cyber espionage.

Not only did the campaign take McAfee beyond its tech heartland and into the mainstream news pages in Europe, the US, Australia and Japan, it also went beyond coverage, adding enormous value to the business bottom line - generating over 1,000 sales leads and creating dialogue with governments from The White House to Whitehall and from Beijing to Brussels.

It provided compelling web content and distinctive marketing and sales collateral and rapidly became a talking point in the corridors of power with the government of China immediately responding directly to the report in a press conference. It prompted a former senior officer on the White House’s National Security Council to take up the debate as well as senior MPs in London. Launched in November 2007 and hailed by Reuters as ‘a great story’, the ripples are still being felt to this day.

Red was also a finalist in both the ‘Best Event’ category (From Plumbing and Joists to Jackson Pollock - B&Q’s Changing Colours) and Best Consumer Relations category (Creating Email Britain for Windows Live).
