Created in 2008 by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, Shine Week is an annual festival aimed at creating a national focal point for recognising and celebrating the many achievements and positive activities children and young people engage in, besides their exam results.
Nearly 5,000 schools and almost 1,000 youth organisations signed up to join the celebrations which will see thousands of children and young people from across England showcase hundreds of different talents, from street dance to bee keeping, and skills in science and technology to working in the community.
