Move Over, YouTube. Red Launches VideoSurf
Move over, YouTube: there’s a new way to search for video online. VideoSurf, a company founded by some of the world’s leading mathematicians and computer vision experts and funded by Al Gore, approached Red to put VideoSurf on the map. The company taught computers to “see” inside videos for its video search engine, and they tapped Red to reach savvy search experts and the consumer masses.
At launch, Red influenced key search experts from the Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, Search Engine Watch and others. Since then, reviews highlighting the benefits of VideoSurf’s technology have reached consumers in the New York Times, Thrillist, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and nationally syndicated TV shows. Coverage built credibility, drove traffic and generated business partnerships for the company.
