Re-imagining Shakespeare with Adobe
The iconic McDonald’s Big Mac has turned 50 and Red Consultancy helped kick start a year of global celebrations this week to spread excitement across the UK and Ireland.
As well as launching two limited edition burgers, the Mac Jr and the Grand Big Mac, we took inspiration from the original 1970s Big Mac advert to create content and media assets.
We brought the Big Mac ingredients tongue-twister from the ad to life by organising a series of Big Mac Battles. Battles featuring reality stars (Chris Hughes, Joey Essex and Oliver Proudlock) and top grime stars (Big Narstie and Lady Leshurr) have already aired with one more, bringing two pop star greats together, still to come.
The battles are racking up hundreds of thousands of views, likes and shares on social media as well enabling us to generate editorial coverage via interviews with the stars.
Branded merchandise including a T-shirt listing the ingredients tongue-twister were sent to media with overwhelmingly positive results, not least Chris Moyles reading out the ingredients list on his show whilst the team enjoyed a Grand Big Mac.
With over 100 pieces of coverage so far and a social reach of over 100 million, the campaign shows no sign of slowing...and there's still more to come! Happy birthday Big Mac!
